“The last man on Earth sits in his room. He hears a knock on the door, but is not scared. Why?”
This riddle sparked a debate online as many argue that there are a lot of things to consider.
One internet user wrote: “Because he is the last man on earth. He is not scared, be is curious, possibly going insane, schizophrenic maybe. Either case someone would have to know he was in there. It wasn’t mentioned that after the knock off anyone spoke, maybe something fell over.
“But literally of you are the only person on a planet, you will know there is 0% chance of a knock from another human.”
Another wrote: “The last man on Earth was not scared while sitting in his room and hearing a knock on his door, due to it being himself that knocked on the door. He hears a knock on the door, from a recording he’d been playing.
“His dog is knocking on the door so the last man on Earth will take his pet for a walk.”
A third also said that the man was not scared “because he was the luckiest man to have ever lived as he was the last man which meant that he had no competition from other men when it came to the world filled with females.
“Nowhere in the question does it say he was the last person on earth.”
The answer to this riddle is ‘it is a woman who is knocking on the door.’
The riddle says ‘the last man’ on Earth so this means that there’s still a woman or women out there.
