Defense lawyer Mark Richards said the teen was feeling a ‘huge sense of relief’ after the verdict was announced.

He said outside the court: “He is on his way home, he wants to get on with his life. He has to get on with his life the best he can.”

He also said that he believes the Rittenhouse family would leave the area due to the number of threats they keep on receiving.

“Kyle is in counseling for PTSD,” Richards said. “He doesn’t sleep at night.”

“Eventually some anonymity will come back to him but I don’t think he will continue to live in this area,” he continued.

“I think it’s too dangerous,” he said, adding that the teen had security following him at all times ‘since this happened.’
