Kyle Rittenhouse, 17, was extradited to the state despite his attorneys’ appeals.

The bail amount was set by a court commissioner during Rittenhouse’s initial appearance in Kenosha County.

Prosecutors say Rittenhouse shot and killed Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum and injured another person Gaige Grosskreutz on August 25.

Mark Richards, his attorney, asked the court commissioner to place the teen on electronic monitoring and set the bail at $750,000.

“Who attacked my client first?” he asked. “Rosenbaum, then the mob, not demonstrators, but rioters with ill intent in their heart.”

But prosecutors asked Court Commissioner Loren Keating to set bail at $2 million.

The teen’s lawyer, John Pierce, said on social media that he planned to appeal the ruling to the Illinois Court of Appeal.

He said on Twitter: “We will never surrender. Kyle will be set free and cleared of all charges.”

Rittenhouse’s lawyers had sought to prevent the teen from being extradited to Wisconsin to face homicide charges, arguing that he only acted in self-defense.

They have also described him as a courageous patriot who was exercising his right to carry arms during protests over the shooting of Jacob Blake.

Rittenhouse reportedly went to Kenosha on August 25 after the shooting of Jacob Blake sparked unrest during demonstrations.

He shot Rosenbaum after he threw a plastic bag at the teen and attempted to wrestle his weapon away.

While running away from the scene, Rittenhouse was filmed saying: “I just killed somebody.”

Another video shows Rittenhouse on the ground when Anthony Huber hit him with a skateboard. The 17-year-old opened fire, killing Huber and injuring Grosskreutz, who was also holding a gun.

One day after the shooting, he surrendered to the police in his hometown.
