Kojak Star Kevin Dobson Has Passed Away At The Age Of 77


Kojak and Knot Landing star Kevin Dobson has passed away due to “medical complications” at the age of 77 according to the United Veterans Council of San Joaquin County.

As the association announced in their Facebook post, the 77-year-old US Army veteran, who used to serve as the organization’s chairman in the past, has passed away.

“The United Veterans Council regrets to inform you that our former Chairman and Army Veteran Kevin Dobson passed away this evening Sunday September 6th, 2020 due to medical complications,” the official statement read.

“Our condolences to his family and May he Rest In Peace. More information will be posted about his funeral services once available.”

According to TMZ, reports suggest that Dobson died of a heart attack.

The Army veteran was born in Jackson Heights, New York, back in 1943. While he initially worked as a waiter, trainman, and conductor, Dobson eventually found out that his passion lies in the entertainment industry after appearing in the 1971 classic film Klute.

As an actor, Dobson rose to fame after appearing in TV series Kojak as Det. Bobby Crocker in 1973. He remained with the popular show for five years until its final episode in 1978.

Throughout the years, Dobson appeared in dozens of prominent movies and TV series including All Night Long, Knots Landing, and Shannon.

In 2006, the popular actor appeared in The Bold and the Beautiful. Two years later, he also landed a role in the Days of Our Lives.

Dobson’s most recent acting credits include his appearance in Anger Management and House of Lies. He will also appear in an episode of 12 to Midnight which is set to air in 2021.
