As the 69-year-old actress clearly stated in her Twitter thread, she opposes Twitter’s decision to ban Donald Trump’s personal account.

Comparing the Wednesday insurrection at the Capitol to Black Lives Matter protests, Alley insisted that the “big tech now holds the keys to the chains” as she likened the ban to slavery.

“ALL people should be concerned is the KEY here. It’s true, the average person will no longer have a platform to speak their views. This is called SLAVERY. This censorship proves BIG TECH now holds the keys to the chains,” the Summer School actress tweeted.

In another tweet, she compared the riots at the Capitol to BLM demonstrations.

“Remember this? Remember all the fires, killing, terrorizing, destruction and yes, at FEDERAL buildings? It was HIDEOUS & ILLEGAL. Remember how these criminals got FUNDED & bailed out? NO ONE WAS OUSTED FROM PLATFORMS including politicos who ENDORSED the VIOLENCE,” she added as she shared an article describing a Portland riot that took place on the night of July 19.

Despite suffering a major backlash, Alley refused to budge as she went on to defend her choice of words by saying “there is more than one definition of the word slavery.”

“There is the well-known one but the one I refer to a lot is ‘restricted freedom’ … such as the type of slavery in Venezuela,” she added after angry Twitter users slammed her for comparing what they believe to be a well-deserved ban from a social media platform to slavery.
