Kirk Douglas went on a camping trip and enjoyed a great time outdoors inside his cozy tent.
The 102-year-old actor didn’t let his age get in the way as he enjoyed nature, the warmth of the sun, and chirping of the birds.
Kirk’s grandson, Cameron, shared a photo of his ‘Pappy’ resting inside of a tent in a backyard.
40-year-old Cameron captioned the photo on Instagram: “This amazing man, my Pappy, is such inspiration in so many ways! Going camping at 102! #Spartacus #thrunthru.”
Kirk wasn’t roughing it as he laid on an inflatable mattress while pitched next to a pool. The touching photos of the star taking advantage of the spring air touched the hearts of millions of social media users.
The iconic actor’s accommodations included an inflatable mattress, a plush throw blanket, pillows, and sheets. He wore a pair of sunglasses as he rested inside the very spacious tent.
The Spartacus star has gone from centurion to centenarian, making a glittering career as one of the greatest leading men in Hollywood. He is also one of the industry’s most-adored figures.
He celebrated his 102nd birthday in December alongside his wife of more than six decades, Anne Buydens. It appears like age hasn’t slowed them down.
A few months before they celebrated his birthday, his son Michael Douglas said his father was working out with a personal trainer.
He told TV host Lorraine Kelly: “He still has a trainer. He works out with a trainer at 101.
“I remember when Dad was 90 and he had a guy that he worked out with for more than 30 years, 40 years, Mike Abrams.
“I went to see Dad one day, he was 90 and wasn’t feeling so good. I said, ‘Dad, what’s wrong? You don’t look good.’ He said, ‘Ah, Mike died.’ I said, ‘Ah Dad I’m so sorry, Mike died? How old was Mike, Dad?’ ‘94.’”
Last year, Kirk discovered FaceTime and embraced advancing technology. “He discovered FaceTime. He just loves it,” Michael added.
