An employee of the American embassy in Kiev was pronounced dead after she was found in an unconscious state with major head injuries in a forest near the train tracks.
As of now, the victim has not yet been identified by her name and the police are looking for a suspect.
The victim was found in her severely injured state by a pedestrian who just happened to pass by the area. Although she was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, she passed away from the complications from her injuries. She was identified by an ID card she carried with her.
As of now, it has not yet been reported if the employee who was injured and consequently killed is an American citizen or a local Ukrainian worker. Following leads from witnesses, the Ukrainian police are looking for a suspect in his 30s who was in dark shorts.
Because of the importance of the mission in Ukraine, some 180 American citizens and nearly three times that number of local Ukrainians are employed by the embassy in Kiev. The harrowing death of the employee raises much more questions in an already volatile state.
If the American mission in Kiev sounds familiar to any of our readers, it is because it had an important role during the Impeachment trial for President Donald Trump. The infamous claims of a quid-pro-quo with the Ukrainian President was the core of the trials.
The major personnel who were engaged in the process were likely relocated or resigned from their positions after the bitter impeachment process. Whether the death of this employee had anything to do with the trial is unknown, although conspiracy theorists may thrive.
For instance, some may start arguing that she was somehow related to the trials and were thus silenced by one side or another. Needless to say, these are currently all baseless speculations as virtually nothing has been reported or disclosed regarding this employee.
All related agencies have so far remained silent on the death. The exact reasons for this unusual silence is not yet clear, but will likely be reported as more information over the death is disclosed.
