R Kelly has been held in a Chicago area jail since July on federal s*x crimes charges.

He also faced charges in New York on racketeering, kidnapping, forced labor and sexual exploitation of a child.

The 52-year-old singer complained that he is not being able to see more than one girlfriend at a time as one of the reasons he should be granted bail.

Kelly’s lawyer has asked the judge in the singer’s New York federal case to reconsider. The motion, filed by attorney Steven Greenberg in US District Court in New York Monday, complains that no other friends or colleagues are allowed to visit and meet the singer.

“His visits are severely restricted; presently, he is only allowed one unrelated person to visit. In other words, although he lives and has lived with two lady friends, only one of them is allowed to be on his visiting list, and after 90 days he is required to switch,” Greenberg says in the motion. “No other friends or professional colleagues are allowed to visit. That is not right.”

According to Chicago Tribune, ”In New York, Kelly alone was indicted on a charge of racketeering conspiracy, alleging he identified underage girls attending his concerts and groomed them for later sexual abuse.”

”Kelly is also charged in four separate indictments in Cook County alleging he sexually assaulted one woman and sexually abused three minor girls.”

His lawyer also complained that Kelly should be released from jail on health grounds, stating that he is ‘anxious and suffering from an untreated hernia and numbness in one of his hands.’

Kelly was arrested on February 10 for sexual abuse, to which he pleaded not guilty. In May, he was charged with 11 further counts after being released on bail. He then arrested in July on sex-related charges including coercion, physical abuse and sex with underage girls. He was refused bail following the July charges.
