Prince William And Kate Middleton Joined Hands With The Queen Of Cakes – For The Festive Food-Themed BBC Special


The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined Mary Berry on a TV show as they both helped her in cooking for the festive feast to thank people who will be working on Christmas Day.

Prince William has also revealed that he learned the Royal recipe from his grandparents, the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh.

In conversation with food writer and TV cook Mary Berry as part of a BBC1 Christmas special, Prince William, tells that his grandmother became Queen when she was only 25. She achieved the throne in ‘a man’s world’.

‘My grandmother becoming Queen at a very young age, in the days when it was a man’s world, it was very difficult for her to make a difference – and she’s done it in her own very unique, distinct way. And, you know, my grandmother and my grandfather together are the epitome of public service.

And I get a lot out of helping people. I find that you hear and you understand and you learn so much more by giving a bit of your time, a bit of your day, to just be around.’

William also talks about his father, Prince Charles, and his late mother, Princess Diana. Talking to Ms. Berry at the London center of The Passage, he says: ‘Growing up, both of my parents were hugely charitable. My father set up the Prince’s Trust. He’s involved in so many different organizations.’

‘My mother has done her work with homelessness and Aids and other charities and I think that I’ve grown up in a household which has been very much a case of, “Well, we’re very lucky. You must give back.”

The BBC special, A Berry Royal Christmas, sees the former Great British Bake Off presenter, has written more than 75 cookery books. She has joined the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on several Royal engagements. Ms. Berry has given tips to the Duchess on how to ice cupcakes.

Ms. Berry said: ‘I am honored the Duke and Duchess invited me to join them on their charity engagements. It was truly special to see the causes so close to their hearts, as well as to hear all about the amazing support these charities provide.’
