Kate was talking to a group of young students and asked whether they had any pets. While talking, she revealed that she herself used to have two guinea pigs.

She then added, “there was one called Pip and one called Squeak because my sister was called Pippa and I was Squeak.” How cute!

It seems that Kate is now passing on the sweet tradition to her own children. Shortly after she had her first son, Prince George, it was revealed that Kate and William had started to call him PG – because “Prince George”.

They added ‘Tips’ to the end, because of the famous UK tea brand ‘PG Tips’, and soon enough Tips became the young Prince’s very own cute nickname.

Though their more personal nicknames are not always revealed, it is not uncommon for Royal family members to have other names.

Very often, members are given other names to ensure privacy.

In a bid to maintain some normalcy while royals are studying at school, they also don’t use their titles.

Prince William and Harry took on the names ‘William Wales’ and ‘Harry Wales’ while at school, from their parent’s Dukedom (Duke and Duchess of Wales). Similarly, Prince George is known as George Cambridge – from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – while at school.
