A man who went to the toilet following a night of drinking, during their first day of camping was astonished to walk in on two kangaroos happily munching on the tissues.

Matt Trayner, 29, was with his girlfriend and friends at a campsite in Flinders Ranges National Park in South Australia when the bizarre encounter happened.

Matt immediately whipped out his camera to take the footage that shows one kangaroo happily munching on some tissues in the middle of the room while his partner was having his own feast inside a cubicle. The clip then cuts to a scene showing the kangaroo now eating the paper towels by the sink.

Throughout that time, the kangaroos calmly continue their meal and didn’t pay Matt any attention.

Matt could be heard saying: “Lads, what is going on? They’re eating the toilet paper. Guys, that’s not nutritious – what are you doing?”

The makeshift bathrooms were located in Wilpena Pound Resort. Matt was about to use the facilities when he stumbled upon the pair of hungry marsupials.

Matt, an engineer from Caterham, Surrey, but who now lives in Adelaide, found the sight ‘so hilarious’ that he just had to take a video.

He said: “You don’t imagine having to battle for the loos with two kangaroos munching away on toilet paper late at night.

“It was a surreal experience and a very funny one as well.

“The one in the open was just chomping on hand roll, which had all been pulled out in a long white line in front of it, like a conveyor belt.”

“And the second was in the cubicle and at one point just its tail was sticking out.

“We had all had a few drinks that night too, so that made the sight even funnier!

“They had been spotted hopping around the campsite, so they obviously weren’t too bothered being around humans.”

It was also fortunate for Matt that he could hold it in long enough to be able to take a video!
