VP Kamala Harris Speaks Out After The Acquittal Of Kyle Rittenhouse And Contradicts President Joe Biden’s Remarks


Vice President Kamala Harris has spoken out after the acquittal of 18-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse.

Expressing her disappointment over the verdict, the former California senator told reporters on the tarmac on Friday: “Today’s verdict speaks for itself.

“I’ve spent a majority of my career working to make our criminal justice system more equitable. It’s clear, there’s still a lot more work to do.”

Harris’ remarks contradict those made by President Joe Biden, who said on Friday: “I stand by what the jury has concluded. The jury system works and we have to abide by it.”

His comments received a negative reaction from liberals on social media, The President later issued a statement saying he was ‘angry’ and ‘concerned’ over the jury’s decision.

“While the verdict in Kenosha will leave many Americans feeling angry and concerned, myself included, we must acknowledge that the jury has spoken,” he said in the written statement.

The statement continued: “I know that we’re not going to heal our country’s wounds overnight, but I remain steadfast in my commitment to do everything in my power to ensure that every American is treated equally, with fairness and dignity, under the law.

“I urge everyone to express their views peacefully, consistent with the rule of law. Violence and destruction of property have no place in our democracy.

“The White House and Federal authorities have been in contact with Governor Evers’s office to prepare for any outcome in this case, and I have spoken with the Governor this afternoon and offered support and any assistance needed to ensure public safety.”

Rittenhouse’s attorney, Mark Richards, said he was dismayed by the president’s depiction of the teen as a white supremacist.

“I’ve never had a case, I don’t think I ever will, where within two days or three days of one another, you know, the President and the presidential candidate comment on it. And both of them had such different beliefs,” he said.

“President Biden said some things, I think are so incorrect and untrue — he is not a white supremacist. I’m glad that he at least respects the jury verdict.”
