Kamala Harris is bothered as she continues to live out of suitcases, waiting for the completion of renovations on the vice president’s residence located at the Naval Observatory.
Both vice president, Kamala Harris, and Second gentleman, Doug Emhoff, are temporarily living across Pennsylvania Avenue at Blair House, the president’s official guest quarters which is mainly known for its luxury.
Kamala Harris is “getting frustrated,” government officials tell CNN, an intense desire to move into her designated house is growing by the day.
She might be adding onto the vice president’s residence delays, having constant updates on how the residence is going especially because she asked for requests herself. Kamala Harris likes to cook and requested for work to be done in the kitchen for her to live comfortably.
Her residence is a mansion, only two and a half miles away from the White House, located in North West Washington.
There are still a few weeks where the Naval staff, those who help operate the home, can refresh and properly prepare for welcoming the vice president.
They are unable to move into their private residence for more than two months after inauguration, and the construction in the stately mansion continues. The residence was created for the vice president back in 1893, constantly renovating and updating its facilities.
An administration official says that the delay in construction has left Kamala Harris very testy.
Kamala Harris had moved from her minimalist D.C. condo to Blair House, the official guest house of the president’s known for its luxury after inauguration. She was aware that she wouldn’t be moving in immediately because of the repairs, and it would be easier for staff to maneuver if the house was unoccupied.
The mansion’s seven chimneys were in need of construction, and there were many more things to work on that hasn’t been disclosed. Regardless of the unfinished house, the Blair House is also comfortable and luxurious.
The Blair House consists of 100 rooms including a gym, thousands of antiques and museum pieces, and a private hair salon. It has been named as “the world’s most exclusive hotel,’ meant for the visits of foreign leaders, dignitaries, and other guests of the president.
