Being a professional photographer means that you’re able to capture beautiful moments between family members, engagements, weddings, and even newborns with all of their innocence.

But Julie Wilson, a professional photographer based out of New Jersey had set out to capture extraordinary precious moments, to bring awareness to a silenced subject. Down Syndrome.

Julie’s sister, Dina, was born with Down Syndrome. While most families see this as a disability and curse, Julie’s parents saw this as a blessing and embraced her for the unique person she was.

Many people who know people with Downs Syndrome, are aware of some of the many health complications that come with it, but the Wilsons’ saw this as an opportunity to make most of the time they had with her.

Sadly, Dina passed away 5 years ago, and Julie felt that others needed to see the true beauty of children with Down Syndrome. So she started a photography project to show the world how beautiful and special these children truly are.
