Judge Forgave The Debt Of Grieving Mother After Her Son Passed Away

There’s a classic saying that goes “When it rains, it pours” which means when something bad happens, it’s probably going to get worse before it gets better.

This is especially true for Andrea who had to deal with some truly bad luck the past year.

Andrea went to the social security office to clear up the debt, before ever having any time to grieve over her son’s passing and she found a parking ticket on her car. For any person, this would be a downer moment, but it seemed like life was making sure to keep Andrea down.

Sadly, it would only get worse from there. Next, Andrea’s landlord evicted her from her own home. Andrea then needed to go back to court to fight another case to resolve that issue. Like clockwork, when Andrea left the courtroom after resolving the issue with her landlord, with things possibly looking up, she walked to her car to find a piece of paper stuck to her windshield — another ticket.

That wasn’t all though, after Andrea had gone to an office for additional legal services, she needed to quickly run into a nearby coffee shop for some change. When she returned back to her car she was dismayed that yet another parking ticket was on her windshield.

Andrea told the judge, tears streaming down her face

It’s like I can’t win

Life has been absolutely cruel to Andrea with constant hardships, as she is still struggling, a year later, to pay off her son’s funeral, while also needing to pay off her parking tickets while also moving into her new apartment. For any person any one of these would be overwhelming, let alone all three at once. Andrea seemed to be handling it very well on the outside, but on the inside she was struggling.

Despite the antidepressants that Andrea was prescribed, Andrea couldn’t help but feel empty and lost constantly. For any parent, the thought of losing their child is truly unthinkable, but having life continue to beat down on you after suffering such a tragic loss is enough to make one go insane.

Judge Caprio couldn’t help but feel sympathetic to this grieving mother who had finally let all of the pain she had been hiding finally come out. For the first time in over a year, it seemed like things were finally going to go Andrea’s way and Judge Caprio was going to be the person to make it all happen. Not only did he waive her ticket fees, but he something else that left Andrea (and myself!) absolutely stunned.

What Andrea displayed was the utmost courage and bravery in her attempt to hold it all together until that point. While Judge Caprio’s compassion is sure to be saluted, it’s hard to imagine going through anything like what Andrea went through without cracking underneath all the stress.
