A prominent judge from Russia was forced to quit her job after hackers managed to hack into her phone and shared nude pictures of her on the internet.
Irina Devayeva stepped down from her position after pictures of her bare chest were exposed by the hackers and seen by her superiors.
According to the local media, Olga Yegorova and Olga Bykovskay, both chairmen of the Moscow City Court, were the first to come across Irina’s nudes on the internet.
As a source revealed, the young judge claimed the reason for the leaked photos was that her iPhone got hacked.
In addition, they said the judge quit “at her own request” during the Moscow City Court’s dismissal hearing.
“This photo was taken long before Devayeva became a judge,” the source said.
“Then, the stamp and certificate were immediately taken away from Irina. Devayeva did not publish this photo anywhere. Presumably, her iPhone 10 was hacked, a photo was taken out, shown to the chairman.
“When the question of dismissal of Devayeva was being considered, Yegorova shouted that she would not allow such depravity among the judges. But who knows what personal photographs in general. Of course, she was forced to write a letter of resignation.”
According to several reports, Devayeva had a “tense relationship” with superiors who didn’t approve of her ways and decisions.
In response to the incident, people quickly jumped to Irina’s side and defended her position as a judge.
“Hacking a phone is not an offence, no? And what about the right to privacy? Or did the old Soviet hypocrisy never disappear? Or is it just that the phrase ‘honest judge’ is now an oxymoron?” one person wrote.
“How easy it turned out to end the career of an inconvenient individual in Russia. All it takes is hacking their phone or filming them with a hidden camera – or easier yet, showing intimate photos to the bosses,” another one added.
