While the oil and gas industry is facing a decline due to Biden’s environmentally-friendly policies, the president promised not to forget those who have lost jobs amid the shift to a greener future.

“We’re never going to forget the men and women who dug the coal and built the nation. We’re going to do right by them, make sure they have opportunities to keep building the nation and their own communities and getting paid well,” he vowed.

Among other green directives, Biden has ordered the Interior Department to stop new gas and oil leases on federal land. He also directed the government to conserve 30% of federal water and land by 2030. In addition, by that same year, offshore wind power should be doubled.
