Escorting her husband out of the White House, Jill held hands with her husband before sending him off with a short kiss on the lips.

The moment came right before the president boarded Marine One and left for the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland to visit wounded soldiers.

During his time as the vice president, Joe and Jill often paid a visit to injured soldiers at the hospital where Biden’s son Beau was treated for cancer prior to his passing in 2015.

“I’ve been at Walter Reed a lot. I spent almost six months there myself as a patient. And in addition to that, as Vice President, every single Christmas, we spent all of Christmas Day at Walter Reed. These kids are amazing. They’re real heroes,” the president told the reporters before departing from Washington, DC.

Prior to her husband’s departure and their sweet kiss, Jill had an event of her own as she spoke to military children as a part of her Joining Forces initiative.

“I do see your resilience and your flexibility and your strength. But I also see your vulnerability, I mean you kids are going through a lot. Don’t underestimate. You know how hard it is how difficult it is to, sort of, dig deep within,” she told the members of the Military Children Education Coalition during a video call.

“It is the families who serve alongside you know the military person. And so I don’t want you to feel like we don’t see you. We see you, and we appreciate every single day, all that you’re doing.”
