Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston has surprised a selfless nurse who was diagnosed with COVID-19 after working on the frontlines of the battle against the pandemic.
The Friends actress surprised Utah-based cardiovascular nurse Kimball Fairbanks in a video call via Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show.
As the hardworking nurse revealed, she contracted the novel coronavirus while treating patients at the hospital where she works.
Following the diagnosis, the woman was forced to self-isolate, meaning that she won’t be able to see her husband and her kids in person until the quarantine is over.
Paying her respects to Fairbanks and other health workers was Jennifer Aniston who applauded them for putting their health at risk.
“Hi, honey, it’s so good to meet you. I just have to say, God bless you and all of you that are out there doing what you’re doing,” Aniston said.
“I just, I don’t even know how to express my gratitude to everything that you guys are doing, putting your health at risk and all of that. You’re just phenomenal.”
After Kimmel jokingly pointed out that Fairbanks was much more excited to see the actress than him, Jennifer went on to surprise the nurse with an announcement that she’d be getting a $10,000 voucher from Postmates so that her family can get through the ordeal.
As of this writing, the U.S. has reported over 360,000 COVID-19 cases and 11,000 related deaths.
