Jameela Jamil, a British actress, model, presenter, and activist, slams Khloe Kardashian once again after the reality star posted an Instagram snap promoting a controversial weight loss product.
Khloe Kardashian has been criticized for advertising meal replacement shakes on her Instagram page.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star shared a sultry mirror selfie on Wednesday, sporting nothing but a pink bracelet and mid-rise denim jeans, and proudly showing off her toned abs.
However, many fans were furious when they realized the snap was actually a paid partnership with meal replacement brand, Flat Tummy Co, which Khloe controversially claimed produced “undeniable” results.
“Loving how my tummy looks right now, you guys! I brought @flattummyco ’s meal replacement shakes into my routine about 2 weeks ago, and the progress is undeniable,” she wrote to her 89 million followers.
“P.S the shakes are 20% off today and you can get Flat Tummy Tea at a really good deal too. Go check it out!”
She then shared the same snap to her Instagram story, alongside a video zooming in on her abs, where she once again promised fans could expect “tummy progress” in just two weeks.
However, many were less than impressed with Khloe’s paid partnership and rushed to criticize her in the comments.
“FALSE ADVERTISING!!! This shouldn’t be allowed,” one wrote. “We all know, including you, that you didn’t get your tummy by drinking meal replacement shakes.
“I hope to God that your daughter doesn’t fall for these lies when she’s older by so-called influencers”.
Meanwhile, another added: “Disgusting you would promote this and lie that its health! Ladies and Gentlemen do not take this too get skinny it’s full of pesticides and toxic waste! Do the work and exercise”.
Actress and body positivity campaigner Jameela Jamil also got in on the action, as she took to the post to have her say.
The I Weigh campaigner – who often calls out the Kardashians as well as other stars for the messages they put across about body image – branded the mum-of-one “irresponsible” as she penned a passionate response underneath the snap, which soon amassed almost 8,000 ‘likes’.
“If you’re too irresponsible to a) own up to the fact that you have a personal trainer, nutritionist, probable chef, and a surgeon to achieve your aesthetic, rather than that this laxative product…
“And b) tell them the side effects of the NON-FDA approved the product, that most doctors are saying aren’t healthy. Side effects such as Possible Flat Tummy Tea side effects are cramping, stomach pains, diarrhea, and dehydration…Then I guess I have to,” she wrote.
“It’s incredibly awful that this industry bullied you until you became this fixated on your appearance.
“That’s the media’s fault. But now please don’t put that back into the world, and hurt other girls, the way you have been hurt.”
Jameela signed off: “You’re a smart woman. Be smarter than this”.
