The lawyer of Jacob Blake, the father-of-three who was shot in the back by the police at least seven times, said that the 29-year-old will need a miracle to walk again.
Following the shooting in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Blake has reportedly been left paralyzed from the waist down whereas his father told the Sun-Times that the young man suffered “eight holes” to his body during the altercation with the police.
While Jacob’s mother has called for unity and “healing” after the shooting of her son, Ben Crump, the family’s lawyer, revealed that only a miracle could help the 29-year-old walk again.
“His family believe in miracles, but the medical diagnosis right now is that he is paralyzed and, because those bullets severed his spinal cord and shattered some of his vertebrae, it is going to take a miracle for Jacob Blake Jr to ever walk again,” he said during a Tuesday press conference.
According to Crump, the majority of Blake’s small and large intestines had to be removed following the shooting and his hospitalization.point 290 |

29-year-old father Jacob Blake was shot by the police at least seven times on Sunday afternoon after allegedly trying to solve a dispute between two women in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
According to the reports, the police were unsuccessful in their attempt to subdue the father with a taser after he had allegedly failed to comply with their orders upon their arrival.
In a video obtained by TMX, Blake is seen walking away from the officers after their brawl and making his way to the other side of his car. Meanwhile, two officers follow him with their guns pointed at the man’s back.
After the father reached and opened the driver’s door, he was shot in the back at least seven times by one or two of the police officers who followed him.
Following the shooting, violent protests have been taking place across the Kenosha County whereas demonstrators have started burning, destroying property, and looting amid calls for justice.
Condemning the civil unrest was Jacob’s mother, Julia Jackson, who called for unity and “healing” as she suggested her son wouldn’t be happy with what’s going on.
“If Jacob knew what was going on he would be very unpleased. So I’m really asking and encouraging everyone in Wisconsin and abroad to take a moment and examine your heart,” the mother said. She also claimed she’s praying for everyone, including police officers, and “for the healing of our country.”
