Italy Closed All Schools And Sporting Venues Amid Coronavirus Outbreak In The Country


Italy has closed all educational institutions, including schools and universities, following over one hundred coronavirus deaths in the country.

According to recent reports, Europe’s most affected country by the novel coronavirus has decided to close all sporting venues and educational institutions to counter the outbreak.

In addition, the government has urged the public to stop resorting to kissing and is planning a kissing ban in an attempt to stop the virus from spreading.

While sporting events will still take place in the country, fans will have to be content with watching their favorite players on the screens.

Meanwhile, the prime minister has ordered a temporary closure of all theaters and cinemas and told the people to avoid shaking hands and any “direct physical contact with all people.”

“We are focused on taking all measures for direct containment or delaying the spread of the virus,” Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said.

“The health system risks going into overload, and we will have a problem with intensive care if an exponential crisis continues.”

Italy’s decision to close all schools follows shortly after Japan has done the same.

The Japanese prime minister has ordered the closure of all schools across the nation to prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus in the country.

“The government considers the health and safety of children above anything else,” Shinzo Abe said.

“We request all primary, junior high and high schools… across the nation to close temporarily from March 2 next week until their spring break.”
