Iran Renews Dire Threats As Trump’s Term Nears Its End


Iran has renewed dire warnings and vowed revenge as the country honors General Soleimani who was assassinated by the US one year ago.

In his comments, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani renewed the threats he previously made to President Trump over his assassination of the country’s top general.

“One of the effects of this stupid and disgraceful act was that Trumpism ended and in a few days, the life of this criminal will end,” Rouhani reportedly said on Wednesday, whereas excerpts of his speech were shared on the country’s presidential website in English.point 553 | 1

“[He] will go to the dustbin of history, and we are very happy about this and we believe that the period after Trump will be a better condition for regional and global stability.”

Meanwhile, Ebrahim Raisi, Iran’s judiciary chief, remembered Soleimani at a Tehran event during which he suggested that those behind the general’s killing won’t “escape law and justice.”

Raisi also warned that people responsible for the assassination will “not be safe on Earth.”

Pointing out that the killing will not be forgotten was also Iran’s Foreign Ministry. “By committing a craven act of terror against Gen Soleimani, the US violated int’l law & the UN Charter in a blatant violation of Iraqi sovereignty,” they tweeted.

The Ministry also vowed not to rest until those responsible for Soleimani’s death are brought to justice. “Iran won’t rest until bringing those responsible to justice,” the tweet read.
