After posing in bikini and sharing her pictures online, a popular 29-year-old Indian Muslim actress has been attacked by masses of people who don’t believe what she did was in accordance with her religion.
Sara Khan uploaded snaps of her toned body after wearing a bikini on her holiday in Dubai, UAE, and Goa, India. Soon after the pictures went viral, however, Sara received tremendous amounts of feedback.
While her most loyal supporters praised her appearance and brave decisions, there were many of those who didn’t agree with her selection of outfit.
According to some Instagram users, Sara’s pictures were inappropriate and not fit for a Muslim girl.
“I think you forget you are muslim.. You change your relegious because in Islamic relegious [sic]… These dress can not allowed,” one person commented.
“U are Muslim fear Allah. She mite as well sell her body for doin this disgustin pics sharam Kar ur Muslim not white girl [sic],” another one expressed.
One Instagram-er even went as far as saying: “Change your religion do what ever then shame on u Sara you was my inspiration but now I hate you Allah will give you punishment for this shame on you [sic].”
This wasn’t the first time Ms. Khan was criticized over her decisions. Last time her profile got attacked by haters she responded by saying: “We respect each one of you. We respect your thoughts, we respect what you feel but you guys should respect us too. We don’t do any wrong purposely.”
Sara, who now also performs as a model, gained fame after her appearance in Sapna Babul Ka…Bidaai, an Indian soap opera, where she played the role of one of the main characters.
In 2010, Sara also made it on the Bigg Boss, the Indian Big Brother version. During this time, she also married Ali Merchant, a TV actor, who she divorced only 2 months later.
