In a move that has melted hearts across the Internet, a dad shared his infant daughter’s beautiful reaction when he turned on her hearing aids one morning.
Paul Addison, 32, from Harrogate, shared a video that showed his four-month-old daughter Georgina as she reacted to her mother Louise’s voice.

Paul captioned his post, writing: “When our daughter’s new hearing aids are turned on in the morning.”
In the clip, we can hear Georgina’s mother saying: “OK, so we just turned your hearing on. Shall we say hello to everybody? Shall we say hello?”
The wonder in Georgina’s face as she hears her mother is enough to melt hearts as she looks around and responds with happy squeals as Louise replied: “That’s a very loud hello.”
Georgina needs to wear hearing aids because she was diagnosed as severely deaf back in September. She had already been using the hearing aids for a few weeks when her dad thought of sharing her “lightbulb moment” with the world.
Paul said: “It’s absolutely phenomenal. You use these hearing aids and it’s like the lights have been switched on.
“As a consequence, she is immediately more alert, happy, and can hear her mum’s voice, which is absolutely delightful.”
Paul says his daughter has a “chirpy and cheery” reaction whenever her hearing aids are switched on. It always gets to him because he himself cannot hear with his left ear.
The adorable video that was shared on Twitter quickly got more than 10,000 likes and 150,000 views within 24 hours of its posting.
Paul added: “There’s a lot to be said about using tools like Twitter for spreading the good news and a bit of happiness. It’s quite heartwarming.”
The video even drew a reaction from actor Chris O’Dowd who reacted with a heart emoji.
The National Deaf Children’s Society also tweeted: “What an amazing expression?!”
Another social media user commented: “Wonderful the quality of modern hearing aids. An immediate response from the gorgeous baby! Deafness will not hold her back with these aids!!”
While another reacted: “This is honestly one of the most adorable things that I’ve ever seen.”
One comment summarized how most of us feel about the video: “Oh my. She is beautiful. What a wonderful experience to share. That has made my day.”
