A husband who reported his wife missing has been arrested after her body was found in a Michigan field.
The remains of 31-year-old Amanda Marie Hilton were found on a patch of land near her apartment complex in Detroit.
Ryan Hilton was arrested after he reported the preschool teacher missing on New Year’s Eve.
The mother-of-two was last seen at around 11:30 pm on New Year’s Eve. She was seen leaving her home and getting into a Ford Fusion.
She was reported missing by her husband in the early hours of January 1. Her body was found on January 5 in a field behind the La Colonnode Apartments in Southgate.
According to Michigan Headlines, Amanda had been shot. But according to News Herald, officers are waiting for a report from the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office to confirm the exact cause of death.
Hilton is cooperating with authorities and remains in custody but has not been charged.
Amanda worked as a preschool teacher’s assistant at Children’s Place Montessori of Brownstown.
Hilton and Amanda tied the knot in September 2019. She gave birth to her youngest child in 2018.
The motive for her murder hasn’t been revealed and no further information is available.
One person commented: “There is no way in hell Ryan did it.”
