A husband and wife who fostered 26 children throughout the decades have passed away from coronavirus just days apart.
74-year-old Valerie Williams and 80-year-old Hefin Williams were well-known for their big hearts and love for children among their family members.
Throughout 48 years of marriage, the loving couple raised four children and 26 foster kids, all of whom were unable to pay their final goodbyes to the seniors after they were rushed to the hospital due to COVID-19 and quarantined.
Following a short battle with the killer bug, both Valerie and Hefin passed away.
After the couple’s unexpected passing, their daughter, 44-year-old Andrea Brinksman, pleaded with the public to take lockdown orders seriously.
Andrea, as well as her sister and sister-in-law, all work as healthcare workers in the UK.
“We have been left devastated by what has happened, but we would like to thank all of the NHS staff that have played a part in caring for them in their hour of need – the paramedics, nurses, doctors, care workers, porters and to anyone else that assisted,” Andrea expressed.
“The hardest part as a family was not being able to say our last goodbyes to them. My sister is a neo-natal nurse, my sister-in-law is an intensive care nurse and I have worked for the NHS for 27 years. Our message is a simple one: stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.”
In a tribute to her parents, Andrea went on to say that her parents “were the most selfless people” who loved all of their children and “left a lasting impression on everyone they met.”
