Did you know that the title of being the World’s Richest Young Man Under 30 belongs to this person, Hugh Grosvenor, 7th Duke of Westminster in the UK? Did you also know that he happens to be the godfather to Prince George, as a close friend of the royal family? And now this young man has given a staggering amount of $15.
6 mil., more than anyone else in the whole of United Kingdom.
He said in his statement explaining the reason behind the whole affair: ‘On behalf of my family and everyone at the Grosvenor Estate, I want to say a huge thank you to all our amazing NHS staff and everyone providing critical frontline services.
We are all humbled and incredibly grateful that you are working tirelessly to keep us safe and keep the country functioning.NHS staff and key workers don’t work in isolation. They have children and families whose health and wellbeing will also be highly impacted by this crisis.
As they keep us safe, I want to help provide as much support to them and their families as we can. That’s why I’m keen to support the longer-term scientific and socio-economic response to the epidemic. ’
Ellie Orton, chief executive of NHS Charities Together, said this in response to the Duke of Westminster’s more-than-needed donation to the NHS department: ‘We know many NHS staff have chosen to keep their families safe by staying apart and focusing their time and energy to care for their patients and save lives.
Their dedication is not only remarkable but no doubt comes with its own price and, if I may speak on their behalf, we say a heartfelt thank you to the Westminster Foundation.’
So how did he earn all that money? Well, the Grosvenor family is one of the most richest family on Earth, who owns the most creme-de-la-creme of British real estate. This should not imply, however, that this wholesome Godfather has all the gold spoon fed in his mouth. Rather, he is working by his own means as well, and paving his path to the wealth that he rightfully displays in social ownership.
He is currently working in the company Bio-Bean, whose main goal is to create biofuel through coffee beans. The Duke is also the operators and aides to the Westminster Foundation, which helps young people up to the age of 25 in Westminster, Cheshire and rural areas for sustainable livelihood.
So, all in all, his huge donation should be a precedent and a watershed moment for other rich people as well!
