One such example is M.A.Di. created by an Italian named Renato Vidal. The company offers flat pack folding homes that serve as an alternative to traditional housing.
Each house costs anywhere from $33,000 (290 square feet) to $73,000 (904 square feet). There is a variety of sizes to choose from.
The smallest versions can be assembled by as little as three people in six hours, considering that the conditions are ideal and that the people know what they’re doing.
M.A.Di. homes are made of high-quality materials and certified as seismically safe. All basic models include kitchen connections, technical installations, sanitary facilities, and one stage staircase.
Another benefit of this type of building is that the house can be placed on a concrete foundation, but it doesn’t actually require one. This allows the building structure to have minimal impact on the environment.
The house components can be easily transported and assembled on-site. Therefore, they are also appropriate for off-grid installations.
In addition to the basic facilities that these homes offer, they also blend well with other systems such as grey water collection, solar panels systems, and LED lighting. As their website writes, their home “creates cozy and safe places highly customizable according to your needs.”
After the final drawings are confirmed, the delivery of the house takes up to 60 days.
