According to Friedman’s column, King’s family, including his wife-of-23-years and their two sons, are in contact with the broadcaster’s medical team but can’t visit the 87-year-old due to his risky situation.

The news is especially worrying not only because of King’s age but also because of the fact he had previously suffered from a series of health problems including a heart attack and prostate and lung cancer.

Back in 2019, Larry filed for a divorce after being married to Shawn King for 23 years. Despite the decision, the couple reportedly remains on good terms and are still legally married.

In December, months before the couple’s scheduled Los Angeles Superior Court hearing, it was revealed that Larry agreed to pay his wife $33,000 in monthly spouse support.

According to the court papers, the sum of $33k represents just one-third of the amount that Shawn listed as her monthly expenses. Her $90k-a-month bill consists of $12,000 spent on clothes, $25,000 on her luxury home, $4,500 on “hair, nails, pet care, and gym,” and an additional six grand on her vacation home.

The year 2020 has been especially tough for the legendary broadcaster after two of his children passed away just weeks apart.

On July 28, 65-year-old Andy died from a heart attack, whereas just weeks later, on August 19, Larry’s daughter Chaia succumbed to lung cancer.

“Everyone’s feeling pretty bad and broken. Larry is really hurt and upset,” Larry’s granddaughter Jillian previously told DailyMail.com.

As she revealed, Larry was forced to watch the funeral via screen because he was still recovering from a stroke and couldn’t travel due to the pandemic.

“He was very sick last year. His kids were all taking very close care of him. He’s upset that he’s lost them now,” Jillian added.

Our thoughts are with Larry and his family. Sending prayers for a quick recovery!
