Sometimes it’s during ordinary moments that we’re suddenly called on to do extraordinary things. That can certainly be seen in a short video showing a woman carrying a baby dolphin back out to sea after it was stranded on the beach.
The woman in the video, Jenni Hanninen, was horseback riding with a couple of friends on June 30 at Seapoint Beach in Termonfeckin, Ireland when she saw the distressed dolphin.

Without thinking twice, Jenni immediately got down from her horse and carried the dolphin out to sea until it was deep enough for her to release it.
The video was taken by Piperstown Equestrian stable worker Darren Cannell and Jenni’s kind-hearted action has earned her nothing but praise.
In an interview with Independent.ie, Jenni said, “When I was younger I might have saved a couple of birds but nothing like this.
“I just saw the first baby dolphin at the side of the water. I didn’t know who to call or if I should call the coastguard or someone.
“So I went over to help and when I was coming back there was another one which was stranded as well.”
When it was suggested that she should give up her job as an account manager for a finance company in Navan in order to start a career in animal rescue, she just laughed it off.
Piperstown Equestrian released a comment about Jenni’s heartwarming rescue: “Not only is Jenni one of our top riders in the yard, also turns out she’s a cracking life guard, it must be the ‘Fin’-ish in her.”
Jenni is originally from Finland but now lives in Drogheda, County Louth.
