Homemade Shirt Turned Official Merch: Answer To Those Who Bullied The Boy For His Efforts


A fourth-grader from Florida who wanted to represent and cheer for his favourite University at his elementary school’s day wouldn’t have thought of getting such harsh reactions to his sweet gesture.

Huge fan of the University of Tennessee, the boy was extremely excited to decorate his t-shirt during the College Colors Day at his school.

His elementary teacher, Laura Synder also took to Facebook by sharing the picture of the t-shirt that had the university logo on paper and pinned to his orange t-shirt.

Laura further said that she was really stunned by his efforts she couldn’t believe a fourth grader could take such things seriously.

Last week, the Altamonte Elementary School participated in college colours day. The teacher has made an announcement in the classroom about the special day.

Afterwhich, the fourth-grader met the teacher in person and said that he wanted to wear the University of Tennesse shirt, but he didn’t have one.

Acknowledging his love for UT, the teacher suggested him to wear an orange t-shirt to show his love and spirit.

Laura was excited to see his t-shirt on the college colours day when he took it to the next step by making a label and pinning it to the t-shirt.

After lunch, the fourth-grader came to the teacher crying when a group of girls bullied him for his handmade shirt logo.

He was extremely sad by the incident, his teacher added.

Laura had to do something to cheer him up. Hence she took assistance from her Facebook friends to connect with the University of Tennessee who can acknowledge this little boy’s effort and get him an official t-shirt.

University of Tennesse replied to her Facebook appreciating boy’s efforts. But surprises didn’t stop there. The University created an official t-shirt with the design created by the boy on the paper.

UT announced on Twitter that portion of earnings from t-shirts would be contributed to the anti-bullying foundation.

When the boy got to know about the news from his teacher, he was awestruck and jumping in excitement.
