After running into David several times, a student at the university, Ryan Chandler made a decision to interview the man for an assignment.

Chandler figured that Carter would be a nice person to have a conversation with on homeless issues. During the interview, he realized that the two had a lot more in common than Chandler had thought.

While talking to Chandler, Carter explained that he had also been a student at the UT, where he studied art on a scholarship.

However, Carter’s academic career stopped when, in an accident, his hand was hurt.

Therefore, he dropped out at the age of 23 after completing 87 credits. This meant that it was only a semester to go for his graduation.

After dropping out, the man dealt with substance abuse, homelessness, and schizophrenia. Carter later confessed to Chandler that he wished to return to school.

Chandler said that he was amazed after listening to Carter’s background, so he kept in touch with him and turned out to be friends.

He also said that the feature he wrote about him in December received public attention. Eventually, Chandler helped the man to get readmitted over the past six months.

Chandler says that the man has the potential and dedication to return to school. The only obstacles are the means of communication and time.

He also added that through his experience, he was able to provide Carter with the right communications and advisor. Chandler also paid a small amount of fees for his application.

Carter claimed that he was grateful for having Chandler in his life and that this admission was the greatest blessing he had ever received.
