The actor who played Brad Taylor on the sitcom Home Improvement has been arrested.
Zachery Ty Bryan was taken into custody after he strangled his girlfriend two weeks after he separated from his wife of 14 years.
The 39-year-old was arrested after a neighbor called police to report a domestic dispute.
According to TMZ, Bryan’s girlfriend said they were having an argument when he wrapped both hands around her neck and strangled her.
She attempted to call 911 but Bryan reportedly took her phone away as she ran across the street.
Police found him sitting outside his home while his girlfriend was hiding at a neighbor’s house.
Bryan, who was a main cast member of the 1990s Home Improvement series, remained in custody at the Lane County Jail.
Hours before the arrest, he shared a photo of himself with four women and wrote ‘Good night’ in the caption.
Two weeks before the incident, Bryan announced that he and his wife have decided to separate after 14 years of marriage.
“Almost Fourteen years as best friends, soulmates, partners and then parents. It has been an incredible journey, but together, we’ve decided to turn the page and move on from our marriage,’ he wrote in a caption to a photo of the couple together,” he wrote on Instagram.
“As we enter into this next chapter, our children and relationship as co-parents and dear friends will remain our priority.
“We understand this news lends itself to public dialogue, but in the interest of our children and our family, we’re asking for privacy, compassion and love during this time.”
