New Year is bringing great news, as the Legends of the Hidden Temple is returning for new adventures.
The game show that is action-adventure, and ran on Nickelodeon from 1993 to 1995 will come back in 2020 on the upcoming streaming service Quibi.
The revival series is described by Quibi as a reimagined, supersized version that will have several of the original aspects of the show, including the Moat crossing, Olmec, and Temple Run.
While the original game show series featured those between 11 and 14-year-olds as the contestants, Quibi’s version will have adults as competitors.
The complete set will be scaled up with complicated challenges and bigger rewards on the line and brought into a jungle from the studio.
The co-creator and executive producer of the original series, Scott A. Stone, said in a statement that bringing back this adventure game show for Quibi is his dream come true.
He added that he has been lucky to be a part of the defining millennial show and he could not be more excited as now, there is defining millennial platform to pair it with.
Stone & Company Entertainment and Nickelodeon will produce the new series executively. However, it was not revealed if Kirk Fogg, its original host, would be involved.
Nickelodeon debuted a television movie version in 2016 of the game show, where the 60-year-old Fogg returned as his own fictionalized version, while Dee Bradley Baker reperformed his role as Olmec’s voice.
As per Quibi, the content in 2020 will also include Andy Cohen from The Andy Cohen Diaries, which is an animated series about his untold and iconic moments from his life.
