Two dogs gave their own lives to stop a venomous cobra from getting into the house where a baby peacefully slept.
The heroic acts have been caught on camera.
1-year-old Skye was sleeping in their home in the Philippines when a deadly cobra entered their front garden.
Security camera footage showed 2-year-old dog Moxie dashing over to the snake and pawing it. Sensing immense danger, 4-year-old Miley also launched into an attack and picked the cobra up in its jaws.
The cobra made a beeline for the door but the heroic dogs worked together to stop the intruder, biting its body and dragging it away from baby’s toys.
After two minutes of fighting, the snake stopped moving and died. Unfortunately, Miley also passed away from injuries after being bitten by the venomous snake.
Moxie survived but was left blind.
The baby’s father, Jaime Selim, said he and his wife Pauie were at work when the incident happened. Skye was with a babysitter at home.
“My wife and I were out for work. When we arrived, our helper told us what happened and reviewed the cameras. We were shocked but also so proud of the dogs,” he expressed.
“I can’t thank my dogs enough for protecting my baby Skye. We will miss Miley so much.”
