Dogs are the most loyal living creatures.
They are considered to be man’s best friend and will always be there to comfort you, welcome you home, walk with you, and protect you from any danger.
There’s no doubt that these furry animals also feel devastated when they are abandoned by the people they trusted and loved.
A 6-year-old dog named AJ was left heartbroken after owners left him at Carson Animal Shelter in California, alongside Toby, his brother.
It is unclear why the family chose to leave him there, but the traumatized Labrador Retriever and pit bull mix appeared deeply affected by what happened.
Aj’s lovely eyes brimmed with tears as his face contorted with agitation and stress. Workers in the shelter tried to comfort the poor dog.
According to the Carson animal shelter’s Facebook post, AJ and Toby struggled upon their arrival at the place, becoming confused and sad.
“Sweet AJ is beautiful and he has amazing energy and he was surrendered with his beautiful brother TOBY. They did great walking on a leash next to each other when they came in but now they are confused and alone and missing each other and home. They need help.
Carson Shelter Dogs continued:
AJ is 100% pure sweet, gentle, loving beauty, he loves other dogs and he is missing his brother, He is shutting down, he has a cold and he needs your help…”
Animal lovers shared the post to help find the two pooches find their forever homes.
One person said: “I cannot read this. Just seeing that poor dog with tears in my eyes makes me want to cry, then I’m feeling sad and depressed. Some people don’t understand that dogs have feelings just like us.”
Another wrote: “I don’t think he realises the extent of what’s happened but he’s certainly upset by it. Breaks my heart.”
Fortunately, the post helped find AJ a new family! The dog’s tears have been replaced by a huge, goofy grin.
The family adopted not only AJ but also Toby to make sure that the brothers remain by each other’s sides.
Speaking about the rescue, Carson Shelter Dogs wrote on Facebook:
“This beauty touched the hearts of a lot of people and today he was lucky enough to take his FREEDOM Walk out of the Shelter, even while he is struggling with a cold.
He was rescued and we are hoping tomorrow that Rescue will work with the different Rescue that is saving his Bonded Brother TOBY, so they can be reunited. Both have been seriously depressed since they were separated… Happy life sweet AJ.”
