Ketchup is the perfect condiment for any American dishes.
Not only kids but adults are also fond of ketchup and can’t resist adding it to hot dogs and hamburger.
But, here is bad news for all the ketchup lovers. It turns out that the ketchup might be doing more harm to your body than good.
According to health professionals, you should refrain from using too much ketchup as it can be dangerous to your health.
We think that tomatoes are good for health so will ketchup be as it is made up of it.But the truth is different than what we think, ‘’Heinz, for example, does not use fresh tomatoes, but instead, they use tomato concentrate which is a dried version of red tomatoes where water needs to be added during the process,’’ according to Jumble Joy website.
Take a look at the ingredients list on a bottle of the most popular ketchup brand, Heinz. The first ingredient mentioned on the bottle is tomato concentrate from red ripe tomatoes, and the second is distilled vinegar. Then there comes high-fructose corn syrup, followed by corn syrup.
The distilled vinegar in Heinz ketchup is produced with genetically modified corn. According to Boredom Therapy, ‘’Genetically modified crops are treated with Roundup herbicide, which contains a chemical called glyphosate. As you can imagine, this isn’t exactly safe for consumption.’’
Many of us go to restaurants to eat and don’t realize what happens behind those kitchens. The most disgusting thing about some restaurants is that they don’t think about customer’s hygiene and serve leftover ketchup to them.
This is really a bad practice to recycle ketchup and some restaurants should stop doing it. The health of a customer should come first before anything.
