In a tragic event, Thomas Cook, the world’s oldest travel company announced its dissolution which led the company to go bankrupt and more than 9,000 employees lost their jobs.
The company had been in such a terrible state that it was not even able to pay the salaries of the month of September to all the employees working with the company.
In a matter of minutes, thousands of employees were struck with huge losses of seeing their company going down and losing their jobs.
In an official announcement, a spokesperson from Thomas Cook announced that Hays Travel has bought all their outlets in the UK making it a total of 555 outlets in the nation. The spokesman said that this helped the company in liquidating its assets.
Hays Travel has not just bought all the outlet of Thomas Cook, it has also employed about 421 former staff members of Thomas Cook.
With the sudden hit and completely no fault of their own, thousands of Thomas Cook’s talented and hardworking employees lost their job and all they had left now was tears.
But at such a time, all the companies decided to come together and offer as many jobs to the former employees of Thomas Cook.
The Manchester Airport even organized a job fair for Thomas Cook former employees and the employees showed up in a huge number.
Several companies showed up to take the talented employees with them as although the company is no more existing, Thomas Cook was a brand of prestige and the employees of the company were remarkably talented.
CEO of Manchester Airport, Andrew Cowan says “This is the time of coming together to help them all who have suffered the loss. This is why we are determined to help them as much as we can.”
