Harry Potter fans can once again dive into the world of magic as the franchise will be releasing four new books on June 27, 2019.
The new eBooks, all of which will be non-fiction short stories, have been carved out of the hit audio book ‘Harry Potter: A History of Magic’ – which itself is inspired by the British Library exhibition.
All four books, titled ‘Harry Potter: A Journey Through…’ will be themed on the disciplines Harry and his fellows learned in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The eBooks include Harry Potter: A Journey Through Charms and Defence Against the Dark Arts, Harry Potter: A Journey Through Potions and Herbology, Harry Potter: A Journey Through Divination and Astronomy, and Harry Potter: A Journey Through Care of Magical Creatures.
Pottermore Publishing, who is launching the new eBooks, said on its website that the books will once again take the fans on a journey of exploring the magical world of Hogwarts.
According to the website, the books “will take you back in time once again to learn about the traditional folklore and magic at the heart of the Harry Potter stories.”
“Prepare to delve deeper into the rich history of magic (be it our own Muggle history, or the magical world created by J.K. Rowling),” it says.
“In addition to exploring the origins of magic through history and folklore, the eBook shorts will also feature notes, manuscript pages and charming sketches as previously seen in Harry Potter: A History of Magic.”
The first two publications are set to release on June 27, while the third and fourth books are expected soon after.
London-based artist Rohan Daniel Eason will be providing illustrations for the books – which will be initially released in English, French, German, and Italian.
The books are available for Potterheads to pre-order at Amazon US, Amazon UK, Kobo, and Apple.
The first novel of the hit fantasy series was released in 1997. It revolved around young Harry and his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger as they learned wizardry at Hogwarts.
The seven books were made into eight blockbuster movies as well as several themed areas.
In the movie series, Harry Potter was played by Daniel Radcliffe, Hermione Granger by Emma Watson, and Ron Weasley by Rupert Grint.
