The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have released the first pictures of their newborn son.
The couple shared a series of pictures on their official Instagram page for their fans.
The couple also revealed the name of their newborn son. They have named him: Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor.
The couple shared the pictures with the caption: ‘Today The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to share their first public moment as a family.’
‘They are so incredibly grateful for the warm wishes and support they’ve received from everyone around the world, since welcoming their son two days ago.’
The pictures – which are taken by former soldier Chris Allerton – have received more than 2 million likes so far.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared one more picture which shows the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh meeting their eighth great-grandchild. Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland is also there in the picture.
They shared the picture with the caption:
‘The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pleased to announce they have named their first born child: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor’
‘This afternoon Their Royal Highnesses introduced Her Majesty The Queen to her eighth great-grandchild at Windsor Castle. The Duke of Edinburgh and The Duchess’ mother were also present for this special occasion.’
Meghan said while speaking from inside the St George’s Hall at Windsor Castle: ‘It’s magic, it’s pretty amazing. He’s just been the dream so it’s been a special couple of days.’
‘I have the two best guys in the world so I’m really happy. He has the sweetest temperament, he’s really calm.’
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their first child on Monday. The Duke of Sussex announced during a TV statement that the ‘little thing is absolutely to-die-for’ and called the birth ‘the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined’.
Prince Harry said: ‘Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It’s been amazing, so we just wanted to share this with everybody.’
‘How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension, but we’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful to all the love and support from everybody out there.’
