She tragically passed away alongside her companion, 2-year-old Dodi Fayed, after a horrific car crash in Paris in 1997.

Years before her sudden death, the ‘People’s Princess’ wrote a will, which stated what should be gifted to Prince William and Prince Harry in the event of her death.

The late Princess Diana requested that most of her possessions be divided between the two brothers, including her iconic wedding dress.

Reports reveal that Diana wanted her estate to be placed in a trust, which she requested her sons had access to when they reached 25.

But Diana’s mother and sister, trustees, and co-executors, were allowed to change some details of her will after her demise.

The Duke of Sussex and the Duke of Cambridge then got their share when they both reached the age of 30.

Diana’s iconic wedding dress, made up of layers of silk, a 25ft train, and thousands of pearls, was returned to her children in 2014 after a global tour.

Designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel, the dress had previously been looked after by Diana’s brother Earl Spencer and had been the centerpiece of an exhibition.

The dress caused a sensation when Diana wore it when she tied the knot with Prince Charles at St. Paul’s Cathedral.

“That gown has earned its keep. It has been around the globe many, many times. I think more people abroad have seen it than British people,” Mr. Emanuel said in 2014.

“What’s extraordinary is, after so many years, people are still talking about it.”

The dress is currently on display at Kensington Palace.

William and Harry have loaned the dress to Historic Royal Palaces and it formed the centerpiece of the Royal Style in the Making exhibition.
