We often don’t think twice about it but working in a fast food joint can get pretty monotonous.
And it’s not just the monotony. Standing in place, moving orders around, and dealing with rude customers only serve to add to the stress of the job.

The video was taken by the owner of a cockatoo named Pickles.point 68 | She was at the drive-thru of a McDonald’s restaurant when Pickles, who was standing at the window of the car, started dancing and squawking when his favorite song suddenly came on the radio.point 232 |
Amused at the sight, the owner asks, “Do you like this song? Is it your favorite song?” and Pickles even looks at the owner and appears to answer.point 131 | Although we don’t understand what he exactly said, we get the gist that he replied in the affirmative.point 222 | 1
The person who uploaded the clip even added funny subtitles like “Happy New Year” at the appropriate moments so we can assume that the video was taken on New Year’s Day itself and that Pickles was “celebrating” the whole thing.
In the meantime, the drive-thru employees could be seen tentatively looking out the window as they had the order ready but there were also smiles among them. The owner has to explain that Pickles was just happy that his favorite song was up and that he was sharing his joy with everybody around. And it seems to have worked because the employees seem to be happy about seeing something new that day, the first day of the year, no less.
When Pickles notices that he now has an audience, he seems to ramp up the beat and does a head-banging routine that will surely bring a smile to your face as it did to the people watching.
What’s even more amazing is that Pickles is so disciplined that he’s able to accompany his owner in the car and isn’t flying around even though the window was open.
He’s such a cute bird and deserves all the accolades he has been receiving.
