The holiest time of the year for Muslims is beginning next week as Mecca is all prepared to welcome millions of pilgrims like every year.
Mecca is the largest pilgrimage for Islam in the world and the Hajj starts next week. Mecca is located on the Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia and it has announced that they are all prepared for the pilgrim s to arrive.
Saudi Arabia is expecting millions of pilgrims to come in just like every year as Hajj is a mandatory visit in the religion and each year more and more people join in.
To manage Hajj, 30,000 security officers, guards, and guides have been assigned their duties to look after the security arrangements.
The city is going to be filled. The small city has a population of 2 million people itself and around 2 million more people are going to arrive in the city in 14,000 domestic and international flights.
The city with a population of 2 million will almost get triple in size as millions of pilgrims are coming in. Hotels are already full and tents have been set up in the desert in the outskirts of the city to accommodate the huge amount of pilgrims
To ensure the safety of the guests arriving in the city Saudi Arabia has also assigned 17,000 civil defense officers to keep a check and about 3000 mechanisms to deal with any sort of threat.
To keep the hygiene of the city and Mecca in check the government has put more than 13,250 workers to keep the city clean at all times. They will be working 24 hours to keep the city in proper hygiene.
The season begins in August every year. If you cannot go this time, it is alright because there is always the next time.
