Baskets actor Hagen Mills committed suicide after shooting the mother of his child in an ‘attempted murder-suicide.
’
The 29-year-old Hollywood actor reportedly tried to kill Erica Price at her Mayfield home.
34-year-old Price, the mother of Mill’s 4-year-old daughter, was reportedly shot in the chest and arm but managed to contact the police and survive. Mills then turned the gun on himself and took his own life.
Their child, Mila, was inside the home when the incident happened, as well as Price’s mother.
According to investigators, Mills held the two hostage until Price arrived that afternoon. As soon as she walked through the front door, the actor shot her numerous times.
Graves County Jail records show the shooter has an extensive rap sheet.
He was arrested on March 30 and charged with first degree rape and sodomy, and also possession of meth and kidnapping.
Jail officials said to DailyMail that Mills was released on May 6 on a $500,000 bond plus $10,000 surety.
His mother said the actor, who grew up in the south before moving to Los Angeles, maintained homes in both Kentucky and Hollywood.
Mills was best known for his role in the FX comedy-drama series Baskets. He starred in an episode of Swedish dicks and also had a role in telemovie Bonnie & Clyde: Justified in 2013.
The 29-year-old’s last listed role is the upcoming movie Star Light.
It is believed the actor and Price started dating in 2012. They welcomed their daughter, Mila, four years later.
One of his former representatives, Elyah Dolan, said to Heavy that she hadn’t heard from Mills since 2018.
“I knew him as a talented actor and horseman with that classic southern hospitality and charm. May he rest in peace,” he expressed.
