Dogs do not care if their owner lives in a huge house or on the street.

Care, affection, and love are enough to earn their trust.

Unfortunately, many dogs are still abandoned and thrown to the streets like trash. But one kind-hearted man knew he had to do something about it.

That is why he decided to open a shelter and he didn’t anticipate that it would become so packed – more than 750 dogs are currently living in his shelter!

It was in 2008 when he started to help dogs. He was returning to their home when he saw four abandoned dogs. He took them in and his small display of affection and love started something new and made him a defender of dogs in his country.

And his door is always open to any four-legged friends that needed help.

With other six volunteers, Sasha opened a shelter to provide the dogs home, food, care, and love. Thanks to the donations and contributions he receives from many parts of the world, these dogs are happy and well taken care of.

Sasha also knows all of their names, sterilizes them, vaccinates them, and also gives them identification microchip!

In an interview with Bored Panda, Sasha said: “The problem here is in the system and the institutions that should be taking care of this.

“They are broken and corrupted and cause even more damage rather than actually helping the situation.”

He continued: “The other problem is in the irresponsibility of the owners who don’t neuter their dogs and leave them outside when they don’t want them anymore. Reasons vary from ‘I got a baby and I can’t take care of the dog’ to ‘I don’t need it anymore.

“There is confusion and carelessness towards animals here that causes a lot of problems of these kinds.”

Sasha added: “I receive zero assistance from the government and some vets are actually charging me more than regular prices because they think I have a lot of money from donations.

“I’m all on my own and I cover the veterinary treatment and everything necessary out of donations and my own pocket.”

Sasha then said with pride: “These dogs just need a little love, food and care, many come to the shelter sad and scared but in time their joy is returned.”
