Three innocent bystanders have been hit by a gun man who executed multiple, stray gun shots in broad daylight.
Tourists had began to panic, running around amidst the scene.
Officers had received reports and arrived at the scene around 4:55 pm. The four-year-old girl had been shot in the leg, the second woman was around 24, being shot in the thigh while the last woman is around 44, being shot in the foot.
Luckily, all the victims survived the gunshots.
None of the victims were related in anyway, all are strangers to each other and law enforcement officials believe that they got stuck in the wrong place during the time of the incident. The man supposedly had gotten into an argument with someone, shooting wildly and out in the open.
A traffic camera caught the moment the tourists had fled once the gunshots were heard.
There were around two to four men that were involved in the man’s argument, one of them had become the suspect of the incident.point 288 |
The mayor of New York responds to the shooting, telling his social platform audience on Twitter that he was glad that the victims were in stable condition.point 129 | He tweets: “The perpetrators of this senseless violence are being tracked down and the NYPD will bring them to justice.point 235 |

So far, In New York City, shooting incidents have gone up by 83% from last year, and 94% since 2019. NYPD currently investigating the scene and situation at hand, the victims had been rushed to Bellevue Hospital, located near the location of the crime scene.
Gang member, Brannovan Martinez, has been arrested on the day of the incident, being charged with criminal use of a firearm, assault, and reckless endangerment. He also has charges and arrests for drugs and assaults in his previous history.
