An anonymous photographer who attended the ceremony, which was in Missouri, United States, could not stop herself sharing the photo of the ‘prison food’ on his Facebook.

‘The venue was gorgeous but that’s it. That’s where the effort stopped,’ the woman wrote in a post. The viral post then shared in an anonymous wedding shaming Facebook group.

‘There were no flowers, no food throughout the day and they put our hotel 37 minutes away after driving for eight hours,’ the photographer continued. It was an outside wedding in November with ice on the ground. I was over it.’

The post has garnered thousands of views on social media and many people were baffled to see the menu.

Many attendees were disappointed by the BBQ offering, which included coleslaw on a paper plate, as well as cupcakes for dessert.

‘It could be the lighting but why does that meat look varying shades of gray?’ said another.

Another added: ‘They let you have destination weddings at prisons?’

One person even compared the plate of supermarket food to Fyre Festival, which was famous for serving cheese, salad and bread at a concert deemed ‘five stars’ and ‘luxury’.
