If you’ve ever been to a wedding, you probably know how things are supposed to progress.
Once the family gathers, and the music begins the couple to be wed proceeds in front of the altar. There, the groom and bride exchange vows and toward the end of the ceremony, the minister asks everyone to ‘speak now or forever hold your peace.’ Typically, there are no objections, but as it happened with one man from Portugal, he interrupted his own wedding to say something shocking.
Jessica and Jefferson were madly in love, and their wedding went as planned. Soon after exchanging vows, however, Jefferson said he had a confession to make. Even though he loved his wife very much, he said that his heart also belongs to another special woman.
The audience was shocked until Jefferson turned toward 8-year-old Giovanna. As it reveals, she is the daughter of Jessica and her previous partner. Being a real parental figure he is, Jefferson wanted to address the little girl despite him not being her biological father.
Jefferson’s vow was not only to become a good husband. He also promised to love Giovanna and be a good father to her. This unexpected move brought the little girl, the mom, and everyone else in the audience to tears.

“If I could ask God for anything, it would be to have you as my daughter. I would be the proudest father in the world to have such a beautiful, intelligent, and educated daughter like you… I also give you love, my love, to always take care of you, to always protect you and to not let anything bad happen to you.”
It’s the unconditional love filled with emotions that makes this wedding so special. It looks like Giovanna and Jessica found a good match and have a bright future ahead!
