Attending the Climate Change Summit after she made it back across the Atlantic to Europe, eco-warrior Greta Thunberg has admitted that the protests have “achieved nothing” because the greenhouse gas emissions present in the atmosphere are allegedly continuing to rise.
As the young activist said in her speech during a meeting at Madrid’s Complutense University, she wanted to give her role to someone else because she didn’t “want to be the only voice of youth at the summit.”
Just days earlier, Greta has once again struck world leaders for not translating children’s protests into action and taking the necessary steps to counter climate change.
“The current world leaders are betraying us and we will not let that happen anymore. Change is coming whether you like it or not because we have no other choice,” the 16-year-old said as she addressed her crowd of fans.
Meanwhile, some of Greta’s supporters were excitedly chanting “We Love You, Greta!”
During the march, dozens of activists joined arms to form a human shield around the speaker while the onlookers kept pushing forward until she had to be taken directly to the stage in an electric car.
According to the reports, greenhouse gases present in our atmosphere have made a fresh record in 2018 whereas the majority of countries failed to meet their emissions reduction milestones.
Shortly before the summit in Spain, Greta Thunberg has once against hit the headlines as conspiracy theorists suggested she is a time traveler who came to the present to warn us about the future.
According to the eagle-eyed internet users who came across a picture of children from 1898, one of the kids looks exactly like the young Swedish activist.
While doppelgangers are a real deal and we’ve often heard of cases when random strangers discovered a person that looks exactly like them, the conspiracy theorists insist that the child in the picture is Greta and that she’s traveled to the present to warn us about the climate change.
The picture in question was taken in Yukon, Canada, 120 years ago, whereas it shows children cultivating crops and fetching water.
“No, hun. What it is, right, is that actually she’s a time traveller, and she’s come to warn us about the future. It’s the only explanation,” one Twitter user responded to the person who said the girl in the picture looks exactly like Greta.
“That’s Greta alright! She’s here to warn us about climate change cus she’s probably been in the future and seen what’s going to happen if we continue to go down this path…” another one suggested.
